Funeral printers charge by the booklet, and the design fee is folded into the price. If all you need is your own words, your own photograph and a file a printer can work from, you are paying for a layout you could have made yourself — if only anything made it easy.

You are filling in a form. It does the typesetting, the page breaks and the folding arithmetic.
Start from a standard running order — entrance music, welcome, hymn, tribute, committal — and change it to yours. Add hymn verses, a poem, a photograph or two.
The booklet redraws as you type, at the real size. A meter tells you how much of the booklet you have filled, so you know before you print whether the eulogy fits.
Export a file for a print shop in reading order, or a fold-at-home version with the pages already shuffled so a double-sided print folds into a booklet.
Most of this is the difference between a document and a booklet.
A booklet is folded sheets, so its page count is always a multiple of four, and the pages must be printed out of order to end up in order. It works out that shuffle — page eight beside page one, and so on — so a double-sided print folds straight into a booklet.
Text flows across pages by real measurement, not guesswork. A hymn title will never be left stranded at the foot of a page with its verses overleaf.
The one thing you cannot discover at the print shop. It shows you how full the booklet is as you type, and says plainly when you need four more pages.

The studio is a single page that runs in your browser. It has no account, no upload, and no analytics. You can put your laptop in aeroplane mode and it will work exactly the same — which is the easiest way to check that any of this is true.
The whole studio is free to use, and the preview is the real thing. The trial prints a faint mark across each page and cannot produce the fold-at-home version — unlocking removes both, on this computer, for good.

Yes. The print-shop export is an ordinary PDF at the exact finished page size, one page per sheet, in reading order — which is precisely what printers ask for, because they impose the pages themselves on their own equipment. Take it in on a memory stick or email it.
Printing them yourself. It puts two booklet pages side by side on landscape paper and shuffles the order so that, printed double-sided and folded down the middle, the stack reads correctly. Print double-sided, flip on the short edge, fold, and staple through the crease.
Because one folded sheet makes four pages. There is no such thing as a six-page saddle-stitched booklet. If your words need more room, the booklet grows by four pages at a time, and you are told when that moment arrives.
No. It is a web page. It works in Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox on a laptop or desktop. A big screen helps, because you are laying out pages.
It is saved in your browser on that computer, so it will be there when you come back. Because that is the only copy, there is a button to save a backup file — do that, and keep it with the rest of the paperwork.
No, and there will not be. Plenty of tools will generate words about someone they have never met. What is genuinely hard is turning the words your family chose into a physical object that folds correctly, and that is the part this does.
